Immediately following his graduation from conservatory, Vahagn began composing, arranging and recording soundtracks for films. His musical passions and endeavours gave him the experience he needed to compose music and write songs for famous artists at an early age.

His musical giftedness has been recognized by Grammy Award-Winning artists and well-known musicians across the world. Throughout the years Vahagn has collaborated with a host of artists through studio work, tours and writing including Eric Marienthal (Grammy Award Winning Saxophonist), Nathan East (Grammy Nominated Bassist), Melvin Lee Davis (Chaka Khan's musical director, bassist), Wojtek Pilichowski, Eric Moore, Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy), Ida Nielsen, Feodor Dosumov and other incredible musicians.

Bright, smooth and soft

"My drive is my passion for music. When I was a kid, I dreamt of collaborating with lots of famous musicians and then I started to make it happen.

My system is based on an iMac running Logic & Cubase with Antelope Audio's converters, Focal Trio 6BE monitoring and I now have more than 25 microphones in the studio! The keyboards I have set up are a Nord Stage 3 88 and the ROLI Seaboard with some extra midi controllers. I have also special touring set-up including 64 Audio’s A18 in-ear custom monitors.

My go to would normally be a U87. Though the first time I used the Aston Spirit microphone and compared it with different microphones, which were five times as pricey, I was totally blown away with the sound and build quality! I decided to get a few of them. I now own 3 Spirits, 2 Starlights, the Halo, and the shockmounts. I love how the Spirit mics capture a bright, smooth, and soft sound. I also love the detail from Starlights on drum overheads. They are all so flexible as microphones and work on almost everything.

At the moment I’m collaborating with Sterling-Sounds’ Grammy Winning mastering engineer Randy Merrill and Capitol Studio's Grammy Winning Mastering Engineer Evren Göknar on different projects. I’m also a Grammy Recording Academy Voting Member.
