Aston Starlight wins SDC shoot-out

The tech wizards at PMT have pulled together their 6 best small diaphragm condenser mics and the Aston Starlight tops the list!

Starlight beat allcomers in their search for SDC microphones that are budget-friendly and yet still superb quality. The Starlight is used widely in professional recording studios and on the world’s biggest live tours but is also a firm favourite with those who record at home or play their local venues.

The UK-manufactured mic features a choice of three switchable voices and, of course, the infamous ‘laser-guided’ precision targeting and repositioning, courtesy of the built-in Class 2 laser. They are also available as a (properly) matched stereo pair at £499, supplied with pop shields, mic clips and a stereo mounting bar.
