Discovering my voice

After moving to Paris in 2004 as a war refugee, I started producing beats at the age of 10 to escape from the world’s tough reality. I may have lost it all, but the music was my comfort zone. I always thought that I couldn’t sing and lacked confidence for a while. After dropping out of college in Paris, going through depression and family drama. I went back home to Africa, college dropout girl riding little jobs, I got "accidentally" discovered for my voice and started being featured on radio and TV in my African hometown and I just couldn’t believe it.

I was only 20 with no degree. I didn’t know anything about the music industry. But I could feel it, music was the right choice.

I am a true Artist. I express myself through every aspect of my musical career such as producing beats, singing, dancing, composing, playing Kora or accompanying myself on the keys.

Berklee, Jazz Festivals and Awards

My acceptance to Berklee was a major milestone and so is my first big award; "The golden Artistic Award" that I received in April 2019 in Belgium.

But every first experience in life matters. And I had a few lately such as my first Show in Latin America and first TV interview in America, just to name a few. So Cheers to many more!

Creating music and reaching goals!

Every morning when I wake up, I take a look at my goal board and create a list of what I can do to reach them and what steps I can take. I see Eva Sita as a trademark and not only as myself, but also a person. This is why I get involved in every aspect of my art, from marketing to music production. I usually go to different professional recording studios, but also use my home setting with an interface, studio headphones, MIDI Keyboard and of course my Aston Origin microphone!

I've got tons of stuff coming up...I will be a student at the great Berklee College of Music in Boston from “Monday to Thursday” but performing, rehearsing, recording, creating and promoting during the rest of my time. It’s a busy lifestyle but I live for it. I will be releasing three new singles and a music video over the summer, and many collaborations to come until the end of this year. I will be travelling and performing around the globe as soon as I graduate in May 2020.

Out-takes and Credits

Q. Who are your favourite artists?
A. I have so many... Sona Jobarteh, Whitney Houston, Rihanna and Craig David are my forever my crushes and inspirations though.

Q. If you weren’t working in music what would you be doing?
A. It is really hard for me to see myself in something else than the Music Industry. I would probably be working in the Fashion Industry. I have a very strong sense of style. I can be really captivated by a good look, any kind of good style. Rock-punk, tribal, classy or preppy! I just really love fashion.

Q.What would your fantasy mic be? (i.e. one that doesn’t exist!)
A. The future of the mic would be to have a mic with a lot of different settings so it is not just a cardioid, condenser, dynamic. A mic that could be used for every situation... A mic that can record any instrument according to the settings you’ll put it. that’d be THE FUTURE.

Q. What are 4 words that you’d use to describe the Aston brand or your experience with the brand?
A. Affordable, Niche, High-quality, Crisp.

Q. What was the first song that made you cry?
A. Dream Brother - Jeff Buckley.
