Gary Barlow on the Aston Halo Shadow reflection filter

Category : Artists

With homes on both sides of the Atlantic and a busy schedule spanning band and solo work and media commitments, Take That founder member and X-Factor judge Gary Barlow is used to being on the move. To make sure the music never stops during his travels, the singer relies on an Aston Halo Shadow reflection filter and portable vocal booth to provide a smooth, natural sound wherever he finds himself laying down his takes.

Gary explains: “I love the Halo Shadow, it helps me capture studio quality vocals wherever I am, whether that’s backstage on tour, or in a remote place with a view - it’s always with me.”

The Halo, in Aston purple, and the sleek black Halo Shadow represent a significant step forward in reflection filter design, offering superior isolation, absorption, mounting hardware, portability and overall room control performance. They are the only devices of their kind to offer 360 degree filtering (not just horizontally like other filters on the market) meaning troublesome ceiling and hard floor reflections are kept at bay.

An increasing number of top artists, including Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran and Walk Off The Earth, have joined Gary Barlow on an illustrious roll-call of Halo users. Canadian rapper Drake was photographed using his Halo while at work on his latest album, Scorpion, currently in its fourth week at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

Reviewers worldwide universally agree that Halo is best in class, with industry magazines bestowing the groundbreaking filter with plaudits and awards aplenty. For example Sound On Sound magazine’s respected Editor in Chief, Paul White, commented: “the Halo sets a new bar for personal vocal booths.”  while James Ivey of ProTools Expert sets the industry tone for Halo with: “I’m utterly blown away by the Halo… this thing is truly killer.”

Aside from the Halo’s extraordnary sonic abilities, it also receives lavish praise for its looks, with Patrick Louis of German magazine Bonedo commenting: “Halo is a designer piece that deserves a place in an art gallery.”

Gary Barlow will be back on the road with Take That next year, the band having announced a 2019 world tour to accompany a new greatest hits album with an additional three new songs.
