Each mic is matched through Aston's process for capacitance, frequency response, and sensitivity.

Three Patterns, Two Channels

The polar-pattern flexibility unlocks the full range of stereo techniques — XY and ORTF in cardioid, Blumenthal pairs in figure-8, Decca-tree room captures in omni, mid-side configurations with one capsule in cardioid and one in figure-8. The mounting bar in the carton makes repeatable placement straightforward.

Sound Character

The Spirit's UK-built toroidal transformer brings subtle harmonic weight and a gentle presence lift around 10 kHz — across a stereo image, that translates into width and air without harshness. Lower noise floor and more headroom than the Origin pair: 14 dB EIN, 138 dB max SPL per channel.
