Using your Aston Element

Element is a revolutionary active, moving coil microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. It’s great for vocal, instruments and anything else you can throw at it!

As an active microphone, Element requires 48v phantom power to operate. The logo badge glows purple when the mic is receiving the power it needs. Most good quality interfaces have a phantom power function.

Set-up
Clip Element into the supplied custom shock mount (there should be a solid click on both sides when securely attached). Then attach the magnetic pop shield to the front and you’re good to go!
Experiment with distance from the mic and set your input level so there’s no distortion (any mic can we overloaded if there’s too much signal).
Like most moving coil mics, there is increased bass response as you get close to the mic (proximity effect). This may or may not be desirable depending on the sound source – experiment to find the best position and level settings.
And that’s it! You’re all set.

Element Outline

It’s an active moving coil mic (meaning it requires 48v phantom power) with a cardioid pattern. It excels on vocals and guitars but, as it has the widest frequency response of ANY moving coil mic, it will sound great on just about anything. It’s also been found to be the quietest mic (in a good way) on the planet!

Not only is the ‘People’s Microphone’ priced within everyone’s reach, it comes supplied with its oen custom designed shock mount and pop filter – for free!

What else is cool?
Element’s badge glows purple when the mic is receiving the phantom power it needs to operate. Oh, and the pop shield is magnetic, so it clings to the mic in exactly the right position and setting up this, and the clip-on shock mount, takes a matter of seconds.
